A Secure Shell or SSH connection can be used to establish an additionally encrypted network connection with a remote device (e.g. server/web hosting).
This access can also be used for an SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) connection in an FTP program such as FileZilla.
SSH access is particularly suitable for data backup, managing large databases and transferring large amounts of data to a server/web hosting.
SSH access is available from the Premium 5.0 package.
On our homepage at www.checkdomain.de, click on My Login at the top right and select "Customer Area" to log in.
You will reach the login form by entering your customer number or e-mail address and your customer password and then clicking on the "Login" button.
Select "Hosting" in your personal customer area.
If you are using multiple hosting packages, click "Edit" for the web hosting package for which you want to activate SSH access.
Click on the "FTP & SSH Accesses" button in the menu that appears.
You will be taken to an overview of your FTP & SSH accesses. Click on the "Edit" button on the right-hand side of the desired access.
Activate SSH using the slider.
If a new password is to be assigned at the same time, enter it in the text fields. If no new password is entered, the previous password is still valid. >
