Core FTP is a free FTP client.
For example, it offers:
Drag&Drop, direct display of files that can be edited directly in the program.
Transfers can be resumed after interruption, and firewalls are also supported.
In this tutorial you will learn how to set up Core FTP, to connect to your FTP server.
Please note that you are required to use an FTP program, a web hosting package with us. (FTP access data).
Start the "Core FTP" program.
In our example it is version 2.2.LE. After starting the program you will see the following window:
Click on the "Cancel" button to make Core FTP not the default program for your browser.
You will see the following screen:
You will be asked if Notepad should be used as editor for Ascii files. Click here on "No".
You will see the following window:
Click here with the left mouse button on "New Site". Now enter your FTP access data. We have used the following data in our example:
Domain name: www.mustermann.de
IP number: 62.116.172.234
Login: mustermann
Password: 123456
(Please enter the data in your FTP program, which we will send you by e-mail.
(your access data for the domain ...)
Now enter the following data:
Site Name: My Homepage
Host / IP / URL: mustermann.de
Username: mustermann
Password: 123456
Completed it would look like the following:
(Please note that you have to enter your access data and not our example data).
To set up a connection using FTPES (explicit encryption), choose for Connection select "AUTH TLS".
Then click on the "Close" button to complete the setup.
Now you can log in at any time with a click on the Site Manager to your FTP server.
