If the error shown below appears, Joomla tries to install the .zip file of the extension which is already in the tmp folder on the webspace. However, this does not work in the example below, because the error appears that the directory cannot be created. However, the error image itself can also vary.
The files must be unpacked locally on your computer and then inserted into the temp folder under "/htdocs/joomla/tmp" in a new folder.
Now you have to go back to the admin area of Joomla and install the desired extension "from directory".
Here it is important that the complete path is specified. Example: /home/ftplogin/htdocs/joomla/tmp "/home" must always be specified here.
"/ftplogin" is your FTP user name. You can also find it under FTP accesses
"/htdocs" is usually the default directory. If necessary, you can check it under Manage package domains.
"/joomla" is a subdirectory, which is specified by default in the autoinstaller, this can vary. or not if the domain has been installed in the main directory.
"/tmp" is always correct as long as you have not changed it via Joomla.
If you want to upload the packed package data anyway, it is necessary to enter your FTP data (server, login, password) at Joomla. You can add this on your Joomla administration page (example: mustermann.de/administrator) under "Configuration -> Server -> FTP".
