Starting with Wordpress version 2.8, the following error may occur when automatically installing plugins, or updating for already installed plugins appear via the Wordpress interface.
If this error occurs, the plugins must be uploaded manually to the server. Save the corresponding .zip file of the plugin locally on your PC and unzip the file.
Then upload the unzipped files to the directory /htdocs/wp-content/plugins/ on your PC. FTP server.
Now the plugin appears in the Wordpress interface under "Manage plugins" and can be activated.
