Serendipity is a PHP based blog software with flexible extension possibilities. for administration and user functions. Through the plugin structure, the blog can be designed without having to write even one line of programming code.
Download the latest version of Serendipity to your computer and unzip the files (e.g. serendipity-1.6.tar.gz) to a location where you can find them.
Next, open your FTP client (e.g. FileZilla) and connect to your webspace with the FTP access data, then locate the folder you unzipped. Now select the Serendipity folders and files that you can find in the unpacked directory.
Copy the folders and files to the selected main directory, which is normally /htdocs. Wait until the transfer is complete.
Now open your browser and enter your domain name. If everything went correctly, you will find at this point a page that looks like the one in the picture below.
Select "Simple installation" here.
Create a MySQL database and remember the database name, login name and password.

Enter the data of the previously created MySQL database in the corresponding text fields. The host is always localhost.
Below this you enter the login data for the administration area of Serendipity. Once you have entered all the data, set the installation with a click on the button "Complete Installation" will continue.
You will see a message that the installation is complete. Click on the text "Visit your new blog here" to go to your blog.
To get to the administration interface, click on "Login" at the bottom right and log in. with your user name and password, which you have previously assigned.
