Typo3 - Manual Installation
TYPO3 is a free Open Source Content Management System for websites.
TYPO3 is installed on a web server and used with a web browser.
Apart from a browser, no additional software is required for use.
The use of TYPO3 is divided into three main areas: The creation of the website design,
configuring TYPO3 using TypoScript and entering the website content.
In this manual you will learn how to install TYPO3.
First download Typo3 from the provider's website.

Extract the file (e.g. TYPO3 4.5 LTS - Introduction Package) into a directory,
which you can easily find again.
Next, open your FTP client (e.g. FileZilla) and connect
you go to your webspace with the FTP access data, then look for
the folder you unpacked. Now select the folder /typo3_src+dummy-4.3.3
from Typo3.
Copy the folder to the /htdocs directory on your FTP server by typing

Select "Upload" from the menu that opens.
Wait until the transfer is completed.
Create a MySQL database and remember the database name,
login name and password.

Next, open your domain in your browser (IHREDOMAIN.DE/index.php).
The following screen appears:
Click on the "Continue" button.
In the following step, enter the database login and
enter the database password for "Password".
MySQL must always be selected as "Driver" and localhost as "Host".
Then continue the setup with "Continue".
In the following screen, use the pull-down menu to select the database that you want to use.
you have previously created and click on the "Continue" button.
Now you can choose whether you want to create an "empty" installation, i.e. an installation without demo content (Blank System),
or whether a demo page should already be installed (Introduction Package).
The latter we take as an example in this manual. You set the setup again
Continue with "Continue" and wait a moment until the loading screen is ready.
In the last step of the installation of Typo3 you have to set a password and for the
Demo page a color fixed.
Finish the installation with a click on "Continue".
The installation of Typo3 on your FTP server is now complete.
Click on the button "Log into Typo3" (3) to customize Typo3 according to your needs.
In the following picture you can log in with the login "admin" and the password from step 10 in the
administration area of your Typo3 installation.
Typo 3 only works if no reload from shell is used.
It is not possible to use Imagemagick in conjunction with Typo 3,
if commands such as exec() are to be used.
