Website Baker - Manual installation

With the content management system WebsiteBaker you can create professional websites in no time at all. Whether 5 or 500 pages, private homepage, club website or company presentation. News, contact form, WYSIWYG editor and search engine for your website are just some of the features of WebsiteBaker.

Step 1

Download the latest version of Website Baker from the provider's site.

Extract the file (e.g. WebsiteBaker_2.8.3.zip) to a place where you can find it again.

Step 2

Next, open your FTP client (e.g. FileZilla) and connect to the FTP credentials. to your web hosting package. Then locate the folder you unpacked. Select all folders and files of Website Baker that you find in the unpacked directory (e.g. /wb).

Copy all folders and files to the selected root directory, which is normally /htdocs. Wait until the transfer is finished.

Step 3

Then rename the file "config.php.new" to "config.php".

Step 4

Create a MySQL database and remember the database name, login name and password.

Step 5

In "Step 1" and "Step 2" everything should now be displayed in green, if the steps up to here exactly followed or no settings have been changed in the webhosting package before.

With "Step 3" please enter your domain instead of "mustermann.com" and change the "Default Language" to English.

Complete the data of your previously created MySQL database in the corresponding fields. The server name is always localhost if you have set up the database with us. User name, password and database name are specific.

Step 6

Now define the title of the page in "Step 6" and enter the login name (user name) in "Step 7". and the password with which you will log into the administration area of Website Baker. to log in and edit your page.

The e-mail address is intended for the case that you should lose/forget your password, for example. The installation can now be started by clicking on the "Install WebsiteBaker" button.

Step 7

Enter your login and password from step 7 on the automatically appearing page and log in. with "REGISTRATION".

You will now be asked to delete the folder "/install" and the file "upgrade-script.php".

Step 8

To do this, reconnect your FTP software to your web hosting package. Delete the folder "install" and the file "upgrade-script.php" as required.

The installation is now complete and you can edit your site at any time by entering your domain name with /admin behind as the address in your browser.
